I opened it. It wasn’t ripe and I really wanted to try it so I closed it back up. Hopefully it gets ripe or I ruined it.
If you buy it to make chocolate, it's fine, but if you eat it as fruit, forget it, it has no taste and tastes weird

I got these cocoa pods thinking it's already ripen and ready to use but I was highly mistaken. I don't know if I got to let it ripen on the counter or what but I'm very disappointed. I ordered two of them but scared to open the other knowing it might not be ready but if it's a chance for it to ripen on the counter then I'll wait.
I didn't know what to expect when I bought this. It's not sweet at all but sour with the flavor of a cucumber. It's safe to say I didn't like this.

Never purchased nor ate straight out from a cacao fruit, we decided to give it a try. It came in just like what we have seen in botanic gardens, except it feels riper to the touch, compared to those hanging on cacao trees in botanic gardens. We very much look forward to cutting open the cacao pod & having our first fresh cacao fruit experience!
