Fresh Young Jicama 3-3.5 lb

Originally grown in Mexico, this root is juicy, crunchy, and slightly sweet. It tastes like a cross between an apple, potato, and water chestnut. Pronounced "HEE-cah-mah," only the root itself is edible--the seeds and leaves are actually toxic. Delicious in salads, slaws, or eaten raw with a sprinkle of chili powder. Also an excellent kid-friendly snack choice.
