The Fuyu persimmon bears sweet, medium-sized, non-astringent fruit which ripens in the fall. The fruit also serves as an ornamental feature in the winter. The great fall leaf color is an attraction as well. Tolerates a wide range of soils but prefers deep, moist, slightly acid and well-drained loams on the sandy side.
